457 Australian Visa
The 457 visa is a temporary visa that is used for sponsoring employees to work in Australia. This employers can either be operating a business in Australia or overseas.
The 457 visa applicants must be able to provide an employer who is willing to sponsor them as part of the visa application process.
It is very common for employers to apply for approval as a Standard Business Sponsor and the approval usually lasts up to 4 years and the amount of employees that can be sponsored during this time is limited
Requirements for Application of the 457 Visa
To apply for a 457 Visa, you must fulfill the following criteria
- Sponsorship: That you are sponsored by an employer to fill a nominated skilled position, have skills, qualifications, experience and an employment background that match those required for the position. Once the sponsorship status has being approved, it’s validity would last for 3 years as this is the time allowed for the business to nominate other positions as required.
- You have demonstrated your English language ability are eligible for any relevant licences or registration required for the nominated position. You must also be able to match the skills of the nominated positions.
- You must have health insurance.
Australian 457 Visa Entitlement
The 457 Australian visa is a temporary visa valid for up to 4 years and whosoever owns it can live and work in Australia with the sponsoring employer.
Other family members such as partners and dependent children are also allowed to be included in the application and can live and work on this visa type. While the main applicant of the visa can only work for the sponsoring employer in the nominated position, the other family members are free to work in any other place they choose to. Subsequently, dependent children are also able to school there.
